Dissolution of Domestic Partnerships
Ending a partnership is painful and difficult. When partners are not married, it can often be confusing as legal rights are not clearly defined. In the absence of a written domestic partnership agreement, Sonya assists her clients in defining what their agreement was so that we can better determine what they can expect when ending the relationship.
At every step of the way, Sonya assists her clients in resolving the issues instead of going to court. Avoiding court is not always possible. The court will look at the intent of the parties to determine if a domestic partnership was established. If a partnership was established, the court will determine how to divide the assets/liabilities of the partnership.
